Below you will find general descriptions for the positions available at camp.
Head Counselor : provide support to cabin counselor with programming, group development, and conflict resolution; relieve counselors for schedule time-off; actively participate in whole-camp activities; model professional camp behavior for counselors; help as needed with transitions (when campers arrive/leave, between activities, after meals); establish and reinforce camp guidelines and safety regulations.
Counselor : live with cabin group (up to 8 campers) during each session; plan activities in one or more of the program areas (nature studies, arts & crafts, music & drama, ropes course, swimming, archery, sports & games); actively participate in whole-camp activities; guide group development of cabin and activity groups; establish and reinforce camp guidelines and safety regulations; maintain professional attitude and behavior.
Nurse/EMT : monitor all aspects of camp health care plan; perform health checks when campers arrive; dispense medications (prescription and over-the-counter); perform necessary first aid and emergency evaluation; provide on-going education to staff for preventing illness at camp and appropriately handling medical concerns.
Head Cook & Cook : (Head Cook will be primarily responsible for meal planning and administrative tasks) prepare three meals and two snacks daily for 60 campers and 20 staff; prepare meals that are healthy (low in saturated fat, sugar and preservatives) and kid-friendly; prepare alternative meal choices (vegetarian/vegan, etc); in conjunction with Director order all food and kitchen supplies; maintain records for Summer Food Service Program; maintain safe and healthy kitchen environment.
Activity Specialist : provide day programming in activity areas requiring certification that are not staffed by counselors (lifeguard, ropes course facilitator); maintain a safe and engaging environment for campers; insure proper use of all equipment; monitor equipment for damages; establish and reinforce camp guidelines and safety regulations; maintain professional attitude and behavior.
