Dear Friends,

Camp Waubanong will open for its 91st season this summer! As most of you are aware, Waubanong provides a home for kids to enjoy an old fashioned, technology-free, and often life-changing summer experience. Campers plays games, explore and maintain the forests, swim, craft, cook, and so much more.

The 2016 season welcomes some great changes. Nancye Good, new to us but certainly not new to directing camps and teaching children, brings some exciting, updated changes to camp, while maintaining the traditions that our community’s children come back for year after year. Can you say Skit night?

During our down time of 2015 season we worked diligently with the Vermont Wilderness School and Peak North America LLC to craft an administrative structure that ensures the camp will thrive for many years into the future.  Focused on sustainability we have been working to cultivate greener ways to operate which include the addition of a gardening program, animal husbandry, and an on-site solar project that will provide camp all the needed electricity well into our 130th season to name a few.  Lastly we are adding year round program options for youth as well as adults.

Your past donations enabled us to do some fantastic things. They included scholarships for children to attend a full week of camp at no cost, as well as providing numerous partial scholarships to those exhibiting need. In fact, your generosity helped us to make our camp fees more accessible for all families. In addition to making camp affordable, you also helped us to develop and update our programming and facilities, an ever changing necessity in order to keep camp safe and exciting each year.

We look forward to another fun-filled summer. However our tuition and donations will account for only 70% of our yearly budget. We are a small camp without many frills, but what we do not have in grandeur, we make up for in heart. Kids, staff and parents alike love Camp Waubanong. It provides a safe, happy, slower-paced haven for our most precious commodity; our children. We rely on your help. Please donate to keep this tradition alive.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sean Ashcraft
