Thank you so much for giving them a great summer experience and for taking good care of them. I also very much appreciated all the communication from you all while they were there. Based on this great report, I will be sending all 4 of my kids to a two week camp session next summer.”— Jennifer, CT

Sunshine Camp Ages 5-6

400 per week.

If you believe that children belong outside, and that the tools of imagination are what build a happy childhood, then welcome to our wooded world. Spontaneous play, exploration, cooperative problem solving, and moments of wonder are what we witness each day in our all-outdoor nature immersion programs for our youngest participants.

Nature is the teacher. We are mentors and facilitators, helping young children connect with their bodies, the elements of nature and each other within a safe explorative space in the outdoors.

We help young children connect with nature and each other. Each day at Camp kids discover the wonders in the woods around our camp, sing songs, and share stories. They use natural materials, such as clay, rock-paint, bark, and leaves to create works of woodland art. Play games, climb the rock wall, swim in the pool, harvest yummy snacks from the garden, and so much more fills Campers days, maybe even a short nap in a hammock.

Our forest playground includes trails to explore, forts to build and play inside and puddles in which to stomp and splash as well as our pool and climbing wall. Camp runs Monday – Friday, from 9:15am to 3:45pm. Please bring water, snacks, change of clothes, swim gear, and a bag lunch each day.

Early drop at 8:30am and late pick up at 4:30pm available for 50/wk each.

Join us for a summer of thriving and surviving at Forest Camp! Forest Overnight Camp offers 1-7 week long sessions for youth 8-12.

Forest Campers can swim, boat, play capture the flag, pick wild raspberries & blackberries, make music, tend the camp garden, build serious wilderness shelters, climb the rock wall, make a wooden spoon, learn bushcraft skills, dance, act, do yoga & meditation, learn woodworking and metal smithing, ancient weaponry, and much more.  Upon registration, campers can sign up for multi-day backcountry canoeing or backpacking trips. Forest camp inspires youth’s natural discovery, cooperation, responsibility, and independence.

Campers spend their week sleeping in our three walled cabins and/or the forest surrounding our main campus with up to eight other campers in their own hammocks, shelters, or wall tents. Our feminine and masculine sleeping shelters are located on opposite ends of camp. The week for traditional overnight campers begins with drop-off on Sunday, and lasts through pick-up on the appropriate Saturday.

Leaders in training “lit” Overnight Camp Ages 13-15

Camp W Long Trail.jpeg

613-1183 per week based on length of stay

Leaders in Training (LIT) campers experience immersive nature-based skills training, inspiring challenges, and outrageously fun activities under the guidance of seasoned instructors.

LIT Camp offers multiple 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 week long sessions for teens 13-15 who are looking to develop leadership skills. This program challenges teens to step out of their comfort zone, meet new people, and discover their own ability to lead and inspire themselves and others.  LIT Camp is designed to build confidence, friendships, and outdoor skills - and offer some of the most positive formative experiences in a young person's life.

Campers in the LIT Program learn communication skills, conflict mediation, and help plan and facilitate group activities. Although the emphasis of this program is on leadership skill development, LIT campers get plenty of time to relax, play games, and splash in the pool, wakesurf for a day on the boat, shoot a bullseye in riflery, dance, try ancient weaponry, harvest and eat wild foods, track animals, be a kid, and so much more! Overnight Camps are a perfect opportunity for youth to safely put their skills to the test. What your kids learn with us are truly helpful life skills that will travel with them far beyond the camp experience.  Wilderness campers join our lead staff members on paddling, swimming, or hiking adventure each week.

LIT campers have the opportunity to enjoy select special activities such as “late night”. They will also step up into greater responsibilities instilling leadership skills, such as crafting curriculum to share for a “choice activity” under the guidance of a mentor.

Our feminine and masculine sleeping shelters are located on opposite ends of camp. Three walled cabins can be used during the week for sleeping or LIT can build shelters as well if they choose, sleep in their own hammocks, or stay in Canvas tents while at remote sites around our campus. The weeks for Leadership Overnight Camp begins with drop-off on Sunday, and lasts through to pick-up on the appropriate Saturday.

Are you ready to become the leader you’ve always dreamt of?

Counselors in Training (cit) Ages 15-17

600-748 per week depending on length of stay.

Take your skills up a notch, get valuable training, and spend an unforgettable summer forging friendships as part of a team!

CIT's live in cabins with younger campers gaining leadership skills and developing interpersonal skills, under the guidance of a cabin counselor mentor . CIT's must attend camp for a minimum of four consecutive weeks. Their weeks are spent facilitating group activities and shadowing staff and peers. CIT's participate in the pre-day game plan with staff which allows teens to begin developing an awareness for both curriculum design as well as the need for improvisation, making last minute changes due to things like weather or new opportunities. CIT's participate in all aspects of camp life with their cabins (activities, meals, overnight). With the support of Instructors, CIT's will play dual roles; both as participants, practicing skills with the group, and as assistants, being called upon to lead activities. This position is highly recommended for anyone interested in becoming an Instructor in the future or looking for leadership skill to bolster future pursuits. CIT spots are open to anyone, although preference is given to former campers in filled weeks.

CITs participate in our “Pinnacle” Program, which marks the initiation of the journey into adulthood, and gives rise to the opportunity for youth to explore their connection to self, who they truly are, and how they want to show up in our greater community, and society as a whole. The canvass of the mountains, forests, waters, and millions of stars in the night sky is the medium that allows Camp W mentors to provide the space for our youth to orient to their own internal wisdom, learn to communicate with intention, explore and develop their own philosophy on life, and enkindle wonder of the world around them. CITs have the option to pursue a solo overnight experience where they take care of all their own needs over a 24hr period under expert supervision.

The week for CIT's begins with drop-off on Sunday, and lasts through pick-up on the appropriate Saturday.
