These prices cover the bare-bones cost of camp, but do not cover expenses essential to future seasons, like maintenance, equipment, and developing new activities.

Scholarships
We'll Do Our Best To Help
Camp W has long been committed to making camp affordable for as many children as possible. Camperships (our term for financial aid) provide some assistance to families who cannot afford full tuition.
The Campership program is open to people of any race, color, or socioeconomic background. The amount awarded is based on the financial need of each family as well as the availability of funds.
The Campership awards given each year to registered families are chosen by a committee. The committee reviews all applications and determines how best to distribute the available funds. Depending on the volume of applications each year, it may not be possible to meet all requests for assistance.
This application must be submitted 30 or more days prior to the start date of program. Please allow for two weeks after submission for us to get back to you.
Please note: submitting a Campership form does not guarantee your space in any program. In order to hold your space, we require a deposit and completed Registration Form. If you are unable to submit a deposit or Registration Form, please give us a call at 802-490-5550, or email us at info@campw.org. Also submission deadlines must be met to be considered.
Camp W Camperships

Windham County Resident Scholarships (due to a doubling of taxes from the Town of Brattleboro these are not currently available from 2023 until further notice) are available for a limited number of camper families who are permanent residents in Windham County, Vermont. Maximum award of $75 per camper, based on availability and residence. In order to be considered for this scholarship please complete the family Scholarship Application Form via the button below and we will be in touch once residence is verified.
Southern Vermont Solar Scholarships are available through excess energy credits produced by our onsite solar generation facility. $50-$100 scholarships are awarded to five youth per season. In order to be considered for this scholarship, campers must write a competitive essay in 400-800 words responding to the following question:

Bruce & Carla Ashcraft Memorial Fund Scholarships are available through the generous donations of the Ashcraft family. These scholarships are available on a limited basis. $50 (day camp) - $100 (residential) scholarships are awarded to ten youth per season. In order to be considered for this scholarship, campers must write a competitive essay in 400-800 words responding to the following question(s):
Ages 7-13: What does it mean to you to be a positive member of the community?
Ages 14+: Why is it important to think about our ecological impact as humans?

Brendan Houlihan Memorial Fund Scholarships are generously donated by the Houlihan family. These scholarships are available on a limited basis. $50-$100 scholarships are awarded to ten youth per season. In order to be considered for this scholarship, campers must write a competitive essay in 400-800 words.
Brendan always spoke of the “simple luxuries of life” and in his honor, we ask campers to reflect on this concept.
Ages 7-13: What are your favorite experiences of being in nature? Why is nature special, what does it mean to you?
Ages 14+: How do you find the “extraordinary” within simple moments in nature? How do you find nature to be healing?

Bartering
Sometimes we are able to get creative with a family to find ways to get kids to camp. Bartering is only an option for a few kids a year, but it can be a very effective way to bridge financial gaps as we tap into skills or resources without a need for monetary exchange. Bartering reminds us of simpler times when we all worked together as a community to support one another in our skilled trades. Previous examples include maple syrup, homemade bread, carpentry work, garden development and tending, as well as beekeeping. How can we support one another?
