If you are coming from the west, GPS may try to route you down Ames Hill Rd. and then Barrows Rd. through to Melchen, this route will actually lead you to a dead end so please try to avoid! If you do end up being routed that way, you can always take a right back onto Ames Hill Rd. and follow it all the way down until it meets up with pavement again. From there you will turn right onto Hinesburg Rd. and follow directions up to camp.
Dirt Road Etiquette
All of us on the mountain (our neighbors included) are here to relax in nature and soak up the magic the forest has to offer. Please, slow down and enjoy your drive! The difference in driving 15 mph vs 30 mph hour from the bottom to the top of our road is 1 min, take a breath and slow down.
Vehicles traveling uphill most often have the right of way. Everyone hates getting dusted out, if you’re passing a stopped vehicle don’t goose it as you go by. Dust is annoying and shooting rocks into paint or someones windshield is even more so.
As you’re coming down the hill, be mindful of driving fast/breaking hard as well. It creates a wash board road, which is not very fun to drive over and takes time to regrade/repair.
The key is to slow down and take in the beautiful scenery. Thank you for your part in keeping our mountain beautiful and safe!
Overnight Camp Drop off & Pick Up
When you turn into our driveway, you will see a parking lot immediately on the left. Please pull in and park here to unload!
For 2024 season please arrive between 1:30-3:00pm.
Pick up is the Saturday of the end of your camper’s session. Our pick up window is between 10-11am, but if you are driving from further away and need a later pick up time please let us know and we are happy to coordinate. Thank you!
Day Camp Drop off and Pick up
For day camp drop off, you will pull into the driveway and park in the parking lot immediately on your left. Our Day Camp Coordinator, or another staff member will be there to greet you and check your camper(s) in for the day. Please see staff each day for drop off and pick up so they can check off the attendance roster.
Day Camp drop off time is 9am, unless you have sign up for early care through the Active website. Early care begins at 8:30am.
Day Camp pick up time is 4pm, unless you’ve signed up for late care which is 4:30pm.
